You can help your favorite charity by redirecting your household spending

The Problem:  When money gets tight, companies and individuals look for ways to conserve and stretch their funds.  Unfortunately, charitable donations are often reduced or eliminated, forcing non-profit groups to scramble for other sources of income.

According to the nonprofit “Center for Science in the Public Interest”, many organizations have been turning to food sales, such as bakery, candy, cookies, doughnuts, pizzas, label redemption programs, fast food and restaurant events, and revenues from vending machines.

These programs are time and labor intensive, often return small amounts of money, and promote nutrient-deficient, calorie-dense, junk foods.  An unintended side effect of these programs is the contribution to the nationwide obesity epidemic.  Adding empty calories routinely to daily diets undermines efforts to educate people about healthy lifestyles, and increases the likelihood of obesity related illnesses.

The Solution:  Shaklee encourages non-profits to partner with them in a way that is profitable, as well as time and cost effective.   Non-profits can create a growing source of residual income based on the volume of Shaklee products purchased by their supporters.  Additionally, non-profits encourage the well being and vitality of supporters through the promotion of healthy choices.

Who is Shaklee?   Established in 1956, Shaklee is the #1 natural nutrition company and pioneer of “green” household products in the United States. Shaklee is a science based company, with over 100 peer reviewed and published studies.  Shaklee offers over 300 unique, patented, effective natural products, which are proven effective in helping people achieve optimal health.

Our product lines include:
(1) Exclusive, pharmaceutical-grade nutrition, immunity boosters, anti-aging products, a healthy weight and inch loss program; and targeted solutions.
(2) Hydration and sports products to improve endurance, repair muscles, and reduce soreness common after work-outs and competitions.
(3) Green home products are non-toxic, economical, effective, and safe for families and pets.  (For anyone with allergies or asthma, non-chemical products are a must!)
(4) Exclusive, patented, natural anti-aging personal
care, skin care, and cosmetics dramatically improve the skin for a smoother, younger look.
Shaklee’s long list of high-profile clients include:  NASA; the U.S. Olympic Teams; the Voyager Crew; the first ascent team of Mt. Everest without supplemental oxygen; the Daedalus Project (longest human powered flight, 72 miles); Polar expeditions with Will Steger; the Biosphere 2 Project; and many more.   Time Magazine (2007) and Oprah Winfrey (2008) have both selected the “Get Clean” products as the “Best Products of the Year”.   Our environmental products have been used worldwide on Jacques Cousteau’s ships, and are currently used in the White House and Vice-President’s residence.
How Does the Shaklee Fund Raising Program Work?  In 2008, the “Cone Cause Study” found that 79% of Americans would switch brands to support their favorite cause.  Regardless of the economy, the average family spends $25 to $100 per month buying home and health care products, foods, and personal care items.   By changing brands to Shaklee, supporters can continue to purchase the products they already buy for their families, and contribute to their favorite charity at the same time.

As people use the products, they’ll love them, reorder, and recommend them to friends.  As monthly purchase volumes grow, commission percentages increase from 8% to 34% per month.  Residual income checks can become substantial!

Examples of potential contribution results:
If 25 members and families redirected $100 in purchases per month, it would result in:
$2500 in purchases X 20% commission = $500 monthly contribution ($6,000 per year potential)
If 100 members and families redirected $100 in purchases per month, it would result in:
$10,000 in purchases X 34% commission = $3,400 monthly contribution ($40,800 per year potential)
If 500 members and families redirected $100 in purchases per month, it would result in:
$50,000 in purchases X 34% commission = $17,000 monthly contribution ($204,000 per year potential)
Depending on how extensively the community supports the non-profit and how actively this program is communicated, the possibilities are very exciting!

What’s In It for Non-Profits?
* Partnering with Shaklee, the number one natural health and nutrition company, with a reputation of
over 50 years of integrity, and innovative, effective, high-quality products.
* No risk or product liability – Shaklee products are 100% satisfaction guaranteed.
* Simple paperwork and a few documents verifying 501(c)( 3) tax-exempt status is all that is required for approval by Shaklee Corporation.
* No cost to the non-profit to enroll, no monthly fees and no required monthly purchases. A 15% discount is given on all purchases made.
* The non-profit does not handle money or products; no deliveries; no collections; no inventory; no hassles!
* Non-profits get a Fund Raising Coach to launch these programs, answer questions, and provide customer service.
* Approved non-profits receive a personalized, professionally maintained Shaklee website, which allows 24 hour customer access
* Shaklee handles all of the back office support and keeps non-profit information confidential.
* Communicating with your supporters is critical to your success!  This program needs to be featured in every publication, e-mail, and newsletter to presence it and keep people focused.
* Non-profits may choose to offer wellness programs for employees and volunteers.  Healthier employees have fewer illnesses and lose less time from work!
The only downside would be NOT adopting this program. I would be honored to help your favorite non-profit generate new income.
If you represent a non-profit organization, or know a decision-maker within a deserving non-profit, let’s talk!
